Port of Reykjavík

The Port of Reykjavík is located in Iceland and is the world‘s most northerly capital. Reykjavík, the country‘s largest city, has a population of about 122,000, almost one-third of its entire population. Now for several years, Reykjavík has been the most popular cruise destination in Iceland and most of the passenger exchange is done from Reykjavík. The closeness of nature creates the picturesque quality of the nation‘s capital. Surrounded on three sides by the sea, it is dutifully watched over by Mount Esja, a kindly but imposing hulk, constantly reminding visitors that the city lies on the edge of a grandiose and diverse landscape. Reykjavík has a broad selection of museums, galleries, theatre and cinemas, as well as parks, sculpture gardens and a lake in the down town area. The variety of outdoor activities offered around Reykjavik is becoming increasingly popular. These include whale watching, hiking, caving, midnight golf, rib safari, scuba diving and a review of the northen lights from late August to March each year. The list isn´t over yet because Reykavík and its surroundings has variety of natural treasures: The Blue Lagoon, the water fall Gullfoss, the hot spring Geysir, the national park Þingvellir, the waterfalls Barnafoss and Hraunfoss, the glacier Snæfellsjökull, the small fishing village Arnarstapi, the largest island of the western island Flatey or go hunting for the beautiful Aurora, all in the vicinity of the nation‘s capital. These are part of what makes a trip the Reykjavik area so unique.

Port of Akranes

Port of Akranes is municipality on the west coast of Iceland, around 20 km (12 mi) north of the capital Reykjvík. Port of Akranes is located close to the waterfalls Barnafoss and Hraunfoss, the glacier Snæfellsjökull, the small fishing village Arnarstapi and the largest island of the western island Flatey. Akranes has a lot to offer both for passengers and crew.  The town has variety of restaurants, coffee houses, museum and stores. It is also quite easy to take short and long shore excursions from the location.
In year 2017, Port of Akranes received its first ship call from Ponant. Video can be reviewed here below.
