Cruise port facilities

Facilities and service areas for passenger ships can be found in Reykjavík and Akranes.

All port facilities for cruise ships operated by Faxaflóahafnir are certified according to ISPS regulations. The areas are fenced and security-checked before ships arrive at the harbor. While a ship is docked, security guards are present on site, with at least two on each shift, and staffing is increased as needed during passenger turnaround. It is not permitted to open gates unless a security guard is present, and if additional gates are opened, more security personnel are assigned.

Access control is enforced at passenger terminals, and both visitors and deliveries must be announced in advance. Drivers delivering supplies report their arrival at the terminal, and security guards manage access through the gates. The area is monitored by both on-site security personnel and a CCTV system, providing both local and remote surveillance.

All luggage is screened for turnarounds to ensure safety.
